Here's how a Civil Superintendent fo our Toronto District office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

Visualizes an entire project, plans and creates the complete project schedule, identifying the critical path, and proactively anticipating constructability issues.
Develops and implements the project safety plan and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
Effectively communicates with our trade partners to ensure that performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met.
Collaborates closely with the project team and our trade partners to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
Develops and implements the Project Execution Plan and resource-loaded lookahead schedules, ensuring compliance with budget and quality.
Reviews and understands the contract and subcontracts to develop a plan that identifies and mitigates risks and maximizes opportunities to ensure that all targets are met.
Develops and maintains strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Coaches, trains, and mentors the project team including direct and indirect reports.
Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Postsecondary degree, college diploma, journeyperson certificate, or degree in a related discipline.
CET or Gold Seal certification is preferred.
Minimum 8–10 years of progressive construction experience with leadership and mentoring preferred.
Experience in civil projects such as transit, rail, structures, bridges, and/or roadwork is considered an asset.
Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by application of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
In-depth knowledge of and experience in the construction industry; including building materials, construction methods, specifications, safety and environmental principles, and procedures.
Ability to apply engineering principles to construction plans and schedules.
Ability to coordinate multiple scopes of a construction project, including monitoring, and coordinating our trade partners with the construction schedule.
Thorough understanding of productivity rates and ability to interpret cost reports.
Thorough understanding of contract language, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and leverage opportunities.
Working knowledge of virtual construction software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
