Koler Builders is a construction management and general contracting firm that specializes in ground up construction in the residential and ICI space as well as retrofit to existing structures. Some Key Responsibilities

Prepare construction estimates and tenders, including costs of materials, labour, and equipment for RFPs the company participates.
Review tender documents and set up leads for trades and suppliers’ quotations.
Raise the RFI’s and work with trades during tender process for RFI’s.
Assist in tender/RFP closing.
Prepare technical submission documents for RFP’s/RFQ’s.
Attend the site visit as required for bidding process.
Prepare project specific scopes of work for all trade disciplines.
Qualify incoming pricing, bids, quotations with tender scope of work.
Establish and maintain tendering processes and proceed to recommend tender awards and conduct negotiations.
Prepare Class “D” and “C” through to Class "A" budgets with the support of the Project Management team on Construction Management projects.
Prepare Preliminary schedules for construction project RFPs.
Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors, and prepare feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Knowledge of construction estimating within the following sectors is required: Industrial, Commercial, residential (mid-rise & high rise), and institutional construction

Qualifications and Skills:

A bachelor’s degree in engineering
QS Designation an asset
5 to 8 years experience in , commercial, institutional, and industrial projects - exposure to the mid-rise and high rise sector an asset
Existing strong trade relationships
Strong Estimating skills in quantity take offs, units, costs, labour rates.
Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and all related reports.
Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects.
Ability to handle multiple tenders at once.
Knowledge of building codes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to consistently achieve objectives on schedule, budget, and defined quality standards.
High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
Possess a strong work ethic and the ability to persevere when challenged.
Strong organizational and time managements skills
Highly self-motivated and directed; ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Solid experience using MS Office Suite, MS Project, Bluebeam, Procore and related estimating software.
