Construction Estimator - Mining and Metals
We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and creative Senior Estimator who is comfortable working in the consulting engineering sector. The estimator will actively participate in meeting numerous and growing client demands. By joining our team, you will be responsible for estimating direct and indirect costs for various projects and for monitoring changes.
Your Duties Will Include
- Helping to produce multidisciplinary estimates based on contract data, financial requirements and the scope of work and services
- Organizing estimates based on the work breakdown structure and established account coding
- Preparing assessments for allowances, mark-ups and various costs
- Preparing reports for material quantities
- Participating in value engineering and trade-off studies
- Working jointly with cost controllers and project planners
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of estimating methods, tools and procedures
- When assigned to field work, assessing client or subcontractor changes to the original contracts

Overview Of Certifications And Job Requirements
- Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) or university degree and 8 to 15 years of relevant experience in estimation in the consulting engineering sector or any other combination of relevant education and experience
- Experience with estimations for mining or industrial projects in the mechanical and piping disciplines
- Knowledge of estimation software
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bilingual (English and French)
- Asset: experience with estimation and construction methods in the following disciplines: civil, concrete, structural, architectural and electrical
- Asset: good knowledge of AACEI best practices
- Asset: experience with international project estimation
