An Overview Of Your Future Role At BBA


You’ll be reporting to the Vice-President, Advisory Services, and will be responsible for the business growth and execution of the operational plan for the Decarbonization Advisory Services team. You’ll leverage your expertise, industry knowledge and professional network to achieve the firm’s objectives. In addition, you’ll be accountable for the national and international alignment of the strategic, tactical, and operational aspects of the decarbonization services offered by BBA.


An Overview Of Your Mandates And Responsibilities


  • Lead the decarbonization service strategy and execution in collaboration with all areas of the business.
  • Identify and assess key decarbonization skills that are needed to perform high quality work and expand our markets, then hire and onboard qualified people.
  • Be responsible for producing key performance indicators for the decarbonization practice.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual and five-year strategic business plan for the decarbonization service.
  • Provide insight and analysis to facilitate and support business decisions.
  • Participate in analyzing market segments.
  • Plan and manage operational activities while also managing business development in decarbonization.
  • Identify and establish new business opportunities by building a network of prospects, being accountable for reviewing and/or approving qualifications, expressions of interest and proposals.
  • Manage project risks and implement means to eliminate or mitigate them.
  • Deliver analyses and work with cross-functional teams on strategic, tactical and operational initiatives related to the decarbonization business plan.
  • Address a variety of cross-disciplinary technical challenges to ensure cost-effective, safe and timely completion of decarbonization mandates.
  • Support proposal preparation through creative thinking and alternative approaches.
  • Manage assigned human, technological, informational and financial resources.

Overview Of Certifications And Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant program of study
  • In-depth knowledge of decarbonization expertise in the heavy industry sector such as mining, aluminium, power, advanced fuels and chemicals, etc.
  • At least 15 years of experience as a professional consultant
  • Ability to frequently travel to domestic or international destinations
  • Ability to operate and adapt in a demanding, fast-paced environment by managing flexible hours, multiple tasks, competing priorities, numerous stakeholders and tight deadlines
  • Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to write clear, concise and compelling content
  • Member in good standing of one of the Canadian engineering regulators
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written
  • Asset: Bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written
  • Asset: Spanish.
