Your Next Challenge


Reporting to the Corporate Director, Environment and Operational Risks, you will be part of the Legacy team. You will be responsible for the project management of our closed and legacy sites. You will provide assistance to operations and to the team by promoting costs effective closure approaches. You will also work directly with the senior members of the team to provide assistance on different matters or requests that can come from the Operations and the Corporate office.


  • Lead the Agnico Eagle Mines Legacy Team, including setting team vision, priorities and objectives;
  • Develop the budget for all the rehabilitation and maintenance works at the various Legacy sites, ensure that works are executed on budget and on time and in safe and responsible manner in accordance with our different policies;
  • Responsible for maintaining the relationship with the key consultants supporting the Legacy sites and ensuring cost control of such activities;
  • Manage the contractors and consultants performing work at the Legacy sites;
  • Lead regulator discussions and ensure smooth permitting process for all rehabilitation works;
  • Manage all compliance risks at the Legacy sites and drive continuous improvement at the Legacy sites in line with the various Corporate Standards;
  • Responsible for the permitting of the rehabilitation works and of the proper environmental follow-up of our closed sites and that our fiduciary obligations are met;
  • Lead the closure plan updates for the Legacy sites. Complete all required reporting including Board Package updates, and monthly/quarterly/annual reports, as required;
  • Responsible for community engagement and consultation related to the Legacy sites;
  • Support the Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO) quarterly updates and other matters related to closure of the operating sites;
  • Support the Project Evaluation Team in the analysis and review of potential projects.


What You Need To Succeed


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with solid construction experience, or equivalent;
  • At least 15 years of experience working in project management of mining projects;
  • Experience on reclamation projects is considered an asset;
  • Ability to speak in English & in French (considered an asset);
  • Availability to travel to Agnico Eagle properties or potential projects.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.


Your Work Schedule

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from our Corporate Office in Toronto, ON. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
