Are you looking for an exciting marketing leadership opportunity to lead Brand and Communications for the iconic Canadian brand, Petro-Canada? In this role, you will report to the General Manager/Head of of Marketing for Petro-Canada leading a group of professionals to steward the use of the Petro-Canada brand, and oversee Petro-Canada’s marketing communications. You will supervise several owned communication channels, and coordinate work with marketing agency partners on behalf of Petro-Canada. This role also oversees Petro-Canada’s sponsorship portfolio (Olympics), and stewards Petro-Canada’s integrated promotional calendar.


Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree with focus on Marketing (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in Marketing. Preference for experience with Brand Management and / or Marketing Communications
  • Performance driven, willing to set aggressive targets and push hard to drive business results. Must be able to inspire others to high performance and support results in a high-performance team
  • Positive orientation, be able to see the possible in difficult circumstances, and react in a constructive way. Must be able to enjoy and celebrate success, and must show appreciation for others
  • Support the work of others and participate in their success. This function supports several lines of business, and must have the ability to support a diverse group of stakeholders and drive collective outcomes (and lead others in supporting the same group)
  • Adaptable and versatile as this is a dynamic business environment

Responsibilities:


  • Provide strategic insight and input into Petro-Canada’s marketing approach and the design of its marketing eco-system
  • Act as a key resource and supervise a group of experts; assigning work in a planful manner, assessing results in a measured and systemic way, providing good quality coaching and feedback, and investing in employees’ capability development
  • Oversee Petro-Canada’s sponsorships including the Olympics including in-market campaigns, COC activations, and in-games activations
  • Ensure that all uses of the Petro-Canada brand are appropriate, and provides feedback on brand-connected activities to various lines of business
  • Own Communications Channels on the web, social media, and on-site (signage), these channels support various lines of business and coordinate with them to ensure a cohesive series of messages to customers
  • Provide Agency Management for the roster of Petro-Canada’s marketing agencies, and assesses their performance
  • Govern communications processes, best practices, and performance measures, provide education and capability development to those using comms channels, and shares feedback with various lines of business.

Location and other Key Details:


  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W
  • This is an office based role, hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
  • Travel is required as a part of this role
