Director of Construction

This can be out of our Vancouver or Langley BC Office.


SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Pacific Reach Properties Development (PRPD) is seeking an experienced Director of Construction to oversee our construction team with offices in Langley and downtown Vancouver, BC. PRPD is an owner/investor with a portfolio of office, multi-family, and hotel properties. The team acts as general contractor for much of the portfolio renovation and development in the Lower Mainland, and oversees contractors and trades as an Owner’s Rep where 3rd party general contractors are utilized. Currently, PRPD is overseeing the construction of hotel renovations locally, annual CAPEX work on the seniors’ portfolio at 10-15 sites around BC, multi-family property renovations, and a mix of annual CAPEX work and tenant fit-outs at office buildings around Metro Vancouver. The successful candidate will manage a team of 11 people that includes project managers/ site supers, office manager, estimators, and an interior designer.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a list of the key responsibilities:

Lead, manage and monitor construction of a portfolio of projects and strive to maximize value, ensure smooth project management, run effective tenders, prepare and meet schedules, be laser focused on budget, and deliver on quality.

Review proposed project plans and specifications and comment on the building design.

Lead annual performance assessments for each team member.

Manage the day / day administration of the Langley office with the office manager.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 Years of successful experience in construction at a senior level.
  • Experience must include budgeting, scheduling, estimation, designing and implementation.
  • College or university degree in a construction related field including project management.
  • A solid network with industry contacts and a knowledge of the local trade market.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, and Excel. Excellent organizational, presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel and work out of the Langley and Downtown Vancouver office as required.
