Director of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Operations will work closely with the VP Operations to establish and optimize day-to-day engineering, design, manufacturing, and production operations within the company. The role involves strategic operational planning, resource allocation, ensuring safe operations, managing manufacturing and production strategy implementation, overseeing supply chain requirements, and setting operational goals.

POSITION DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Advising the management team on SCM, HSSE, engineering, production, and manufacturing decisions

· Establishing and maintaining operational processes and improvements

· Delivering engineering, design, and drafting services for business development and project execution

· Collaborating with the PMO to ensure timely and quality project delivery

· Overseeing supply chain requirements and inventory management

· Setting operational objectives and performance goals

· Monitoring department performance and progress towards goals

· Ensuring compliance with quality management and legal requirements

· Facilitating issue resolution between departments

· Developing and implementing policies and procedures

· Managing expense goals, day-to-day operations, and staff development

· Enforcing customer service standards

· Hiring, training, and retaining high-performing staff

· Implementing continuous improvement methodologies

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a senior management role
Minimum of 10 years' experience leading others
Bachelor's degree in a suitable discipline (MBA preferred)
P.Eng certification required
Broad knowledge of the electrical equipment manufacturing industry and engineering design
Experience in the electrical equipment manufacturing industry preferred
Proficiency in monitoring and reporting service levels
Excellent communication skills
Willingness to travel to the US-based facility (10% travel required)
