Environmental Project Manager

Do you want to lead environmental assessments or permitting for the development of hydropower, nuclear other energy projects in the province and across the country?


Hatch is currently looking for talented environmental professionals to manage exciting projects in the energy space. The successful applicant will lead project teams in a diverse range of environmental and social management areas including baseline studies, environmental and social impact assessment, permitting and approval applications, the proposal of meaningful and innovative mitigation measures and development and execution of environmental management systems.


Qualifications And Experience


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Planning or related discipline;
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in the application of environmental assessment processes
  • Knowledge and experience in obtaining environmental permits and approvals requirements, natural heritage policies and protocols and environmental legislation
  • Experience in engaging with clients;
  • Project coordination or management experience; and
  • Flexibility to learn and perform challenging tasks outside their area of experience.


The Role


  • Engage with clients to develop and execute work plans;
  • Manage baseline environmental studies, environmental assessments, environmental management strategies, and plans including research, report writing, field work, and stakeholder and regulatory consultation;
  • Coordinate work with other environmental specialists (i.e. noise, air, archaeology, built heritage, fisheries, terrestrial ecologists, etc.).
  • Collect and synthesize scientific literature, existing data sets and secondary source material for technical reports;
  • Lead and support permitting, and approvals related to the natural environment (e.g., Environmental Protection Act, Fisheries Act, Impact Assessment Act); and
  • Deliver high-quality environmental services to agreed budgets and deadlines.
