Intermediate Instrumentation & Controls Designer
Location: Guelph, Ontario
Compensation: $60,000-$80,000 (Flexible)

About the Role:
We are seeking an Intermediate Instrumentation & Controls Designer to join our client’s growing team focused on custom control panel building for wastewater treatment and other sectors. This role is integral to their mission to deliver high-quality, tailored solutions, and you'll work under the guidance of experienced I&C Supervisors and senior designers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the I&C Supervisor, project PM, and senior designers to discuss project design approaches.
- Attend project kick-off meetings and product meetings with suppliers.
- Review project-related materials including proposals, specifications, and emails.
- Research electrical codes and product applications as required.
- Create and modify P&IDs, electrical schematics, panel layouts, and instrument location drawings.
- Develop single line diagrams, loop drawings, communication drawings, and control room layouts.
- Generate and update instrumentation, IO, cable, and IP address lists.
- Prepare and modify Bills of Materials (BOM) as necessary.
- Release project packages to production for manufacturing.
- Support team members and adhere to ISO standards applicable to the position.
- Identify and suggest cost-saving opportunities in project execution.
- Maintain a daily log of job-related activities using the approved time sheet format.
- Uphold the company's code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of experience in design engineering at a panel manufacturer or in PLC logic programming/systems integration.
- Working knowledge of ESA & CSA standards.
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Located within a 40-minute commute to the office.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in EPlan.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
