As a Leader with Facilities, you will be expected to foster an inclusive leadership approach that promotes equity, diversity and inclusion, as well as psychological and physical safety. As a key decision-maker, you will empower and guide your team, applying political acumen and balancing strategic with operational leadership.
The Leader, Project Management, is responsible for project planning, resourcing, and implementing municipal infrastructure projects. You will supervise project management staff and be responsible for the delivery of projects for a variety of partners and clients including other City business units, community groups, regulatory agencies, and City Council. Primary duties include:
- Accountable for the delivery of multiple projects including design, construction, and commissioning of major interdepartmental and infrastructure projects.
- Lead and mentor project management staff and allocate workload.
- Identify, develop, and implement processes, planning, performance standards and expectations for staff and projects.
- Manage operational budgets.
- Participate in business planning, business unit and interdepartmental committees.
- Represent The City and Facilities to internal and external partners while maintaining client relationships.
- Responsible to achieve and report on business unit and divisional key performance indicators and metrics.
Qualifications
- A completed 2 year diploma and at least 10 years of experience in the facility/construction field including more progressively senior roles OR;
- A degree and at least 8 years of experience in the facility/construction field including more progressively senior roles.
- A valid PMP (Project Management Professional) designation is required.
- Significant experience in vertical construction and 5 years of complex project management is required.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience is required.
- Program management experience is required.
- Portfolio management experience is an asset.
- Success in this position requires strong communication, negotiation, supervisory and organizational skills.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.

Compensation: Level F $94,168 - 144,228 per annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
