Operations Manager

Calgary, AB

Wood is currently seeking a talented Operations Manager, IM to manage and lead operations of the Integrity Management (IM) business out of our Calgary, Alberta (Canada) office.


The Operations Manager will be accountable for commercial management, operations, and growth of the business service in Canada. The ideal candidate will have solid experienced in a customer facing role, and in the successful management of teams. She/He will also have thorough technical knowledge of Operational Asset Integrity services, Risk Based Inspection process and Fitness for Service studies.

Responsibilities


  • Provide effective and inspirational leadership to the Canadian IM business, ensuring that it maintains the appropriate structure with effective, motivated and high-quality staff.
  • Manage and control all projects / contracts awarded to the company and ensure these are monitored and delivered effectively
  • Responsible for ensuring that recruitment activities are aligned with the business plan
  • Establish effective relationships with key customers, suppliers and industry bodies
  • Work closely with the Regional Americas Manager of IM, reviewing business development opportunities to ensure that not only the short-term P&L goals are being achieved, but also that the long-term strategy for the IM service is being supported
  • Technical assurance of all integrity engineering delivery in the Canadian business
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of the P&L for the Canadian business
  • Provide a safe and healthy working environment, promoting safe working practices and achieving continuous improvement in health and safety performance
  • Ensure all divisions / departments operate within the agreed company business management, HR and HSE policies and standards


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree required; ideally in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Structural preferred)
  • Must have minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in asset integrity engineering service delivery, combined with 2 years in an operational leadership role
  • Demonstrated proficiency of ABSA and API integrity management codes and standards
  • Consulting operations and or business development experience a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of: Oil and Gas and mining markets in the Canadian region, including delivery of technical IM services and possess a broad industry network.
  • Experience working for Consultative type organization and managing multiple technical delivery teams, focused on revenue and profit growth.
  • Highly intelligent with creative flair and strong strategic and analytical capability.
  • Results orientated and focused in the execution of predefined objectives.
  • Experienced in the management of skilled workers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable strength in communication skills.
  • Capable of keeping a firm grip on the organization whilst demonstrating high levels of integrity and a constructive attitude.
  • Familiarization with Wood and industry regulations highly desired
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or authorized to work lawfully in Canada, without sponsorship from Wood
