Overview
Reporting to the Director, Asset Management, the Operations Project Manager is responsible for project management of assigned capital and special projects to support BluEarth’s wind, solar, and hydro site operations teams.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe, on schedule, on budget execution of defined project scopes as assigned by BluEarth’s Wind, Solar, and Hydro operations managers.
- Develop and execute required reports for internal teams, including finance, insurance/risk, legal, accounting, board/executives, operations leaders.
- Maintain cost control and performance reporting for assigned projects.
- Ensure all material/services/equipment are available for planned capital or maintenance projects.
- Work with appropriate contractors, vendors, manufacturers, internal trades, and Project Engineers, for planning, scheduling, and successful execution to achieve project success outcomes.
- Develop and maintain schedules and plans for operations capital projects and/or major maintenance in collaboration with site leadership and communicate often and efficiently with site leadership and all team members to achieve milestones.
- Anticipate and eliminate potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts, materials, and equipment access.
- Prepare required business cases or capital decision summaries for new proposed capital projects.
- Support the Engineering & Construction and Origination & Development teams with new site construction process by contributing input to clarify operations needs and to identify and manage deficiencies.
- Work with operations leaders and management on preparation of operational cost estimates for new acquisition and development opportunities across varied jurisdictions and technologies.
- Maintain records/tracking of past proposals for purposes of continuity, updating, remaining current.
- Uphold all aspects of BluEarth’s Environmental, Health, & Safety policies, practices, and programs.
- Uphold BluEarth's values while consistently enhancing the image and reputation of the Company.
- Other duties as required.
Education
- Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, technology graduate or 5+ years of related maintenance trade work experience.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in field operations, with a strong maintenance background.
- Minimum 3 years’ project management experience.
- Proven proficiency with condition assessments, and maintenance outage planning.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical documents such as safety regulations, schematic drawings, and operations, service, and other procedural manuals.
