Partner, Project Management, High Rise Construction (Sr. Director / VP level)

ABOUT THE POSITION

As the Partner of Construction and Project Management , you will play a pivotal role in driving the successful execution of our real estate development projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the construction and project management aspects of our portfolio, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects that exceed client expectations while maintaining a strong focus on safety and sustainability.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, and timelines for multiple construction projects simultaneously. Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the construction and project management teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

Resource Management: Allocate resources efficiently, including labor, equipment, and materials, to maximize project productivity while maintaining cost control.

Contract Management: Oversee contract negotiations and manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual agreements.

Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all construction work meets or exceeds industry and company standards.

Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Proactively address issues that may impact project delivery.

Health and Safety: Promote a strong safety culture on all project sites, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets and financial performance, providing regular reports to senior management. Take necessary actions to control costs and optimize project profitability.

Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, investors, and regulatory authorities. Maintain open and transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Sustainability: Integrate sustainable construction practices into projects, emphasizing energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is required
  • 10+ years experience in construction and project management.
  • 5+ years leadership experience, with a proven ability to effectively influence, coach and mentor others.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, P.Eng, or equivalent are an asset.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian construction regulations and building codes.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets and financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve project goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Construction Management software and tools.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in construction practices.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills in order to multi-task/prioritize and work under tight timelines.
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy and excellent follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work and act independently using good judgment when assessing difficult situations.
  • Self-motivated individual who is proactive and takes initiative.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of integrity, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to speak other languages is considered an asset.
