PLC Programmer


Location: Guelph, Ontario

Compensation: $50,000-$70,000 (Flexible)

Remote/hybrid possibility: No, 100% in person


About this Role:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled PLC Programmer to join our clients growing team, focused on custom control panel building for wastewater treatment and other sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a background in electrical engineering or related fields, especially those with inside sales experience looking to transition into a technical role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, update, and maintain PLC/HMI/SCADA programs.
  • Collaborate with customers, vendors, and contractors to design control systems.
  • Conduct Factory and Software Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT).
  • Perform field service work, including installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Assist in the repair, modification, and upgrading of existing equipment.
  • Conduct training sessions for operators and maintenance staff.
  • Manage projects as required and provide support to team members.
  • Learn and apply ISO standards relevant to the position.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.


Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in PLC technology.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to perform field service work and travel to various sites (vehicle required; kilometers reimbursed at CRA rate).
