Job Title: Project Coordinator (Modular Construction, Eastern Canada Time Zones)

Position Summary: We are actively seeking someone living in the Eastern to Atlantic time zones who is a highly organized and meticulous Project Coordinator to join our team in the field of modular construction. The successful candidate, while not necessarily experienced in modular construction, should understand the ‘offsite construction’ or modular construction process. Excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget fall within our value proposition for customers. As a motivated self-starter, your keen insights and project management skills will help ensure our projects are delivered with certainty. Your role at 720 Modular will offer many opportunities for professional growth, with the ultimate goal of managing multiple construction projects independently. This position will be remote to start, with the expectation that it will transition to a hybrid (office/remote) work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1.      Project Coordination: Assist the project manager in coordinating all aspects of construction projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets.

2.      Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact between project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, architects, and subcontractors. Facilitate effective communication, ensuring all parties are informed about project progress, changes, and updates.

3.      Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, specifications, contracts, and change orders. Prepare and distribute project reports, status updates, and meeting minutes as required. Assist in implementing project control systems to track project progress.

4.      Resource Management: Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure availability of necessary resources, materials, equipment, and peoplepower for timely project execution. Monitor resource utilization and identify potential issues or bottlenecks.

5.      Quality Control: Collaborate with factory and site quality control teams to ensure compliance with construction standards, codes, and regulations. Conduct regular inspections to verify workmanship and resolve any quality-related issues promptly.

6.      Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines or budgets. Propose mitigation strategies and assist in implementing contingency plans to minimize project disruptions.

7.      Project Support: Provide general administrative support to the project team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and maintaining project-related files and records.

8.      Offsite Construction Expertise: Apply knowledge and experience in offsite construction techniques to improve project efficiency, reduce construction time, and enhance project outcomes whenever possible.

9.      Continuous Improvement: Participate in lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices and process enhancements.

10.  Safety: Ensure protocols are in place and support company safety policies to maintain a safe working environment both onsite and offsite.

Qualifications:

1.      Education: College-level experience from a technical college or university program related to construction is required.

2.      Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a construction-related field, demonstrating a strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and project coordination.

3.      Offsite Construction: Experience in offsite construction techniques is highly desirable, including familiarity with modular construction methods and prefabricated components.

4.      Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate with 720 project managers and diverse stakeholders and convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.

5.      Organization and Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills, diligence, and the ability to multitask are crucial for success in this role. The candidate should be able to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain accurate project documentation.

6.      Problem-solving: Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues proactively. The candidate should possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during construction projects.

7.      Collaboration: A team player who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, and clients.

8.      Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Procore construction software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Project, and other construction-related tools and software is preferred.

9.      Must be able to work remotely initially, with ability to travel to job sites and factories as required.
