Job Description

The Project Director, directly and through their team of project managers, is responsible for the execution of Chandos’ construction services for their assigned projects. The Project Director builds the business through their support of Business Development. They develop, lead, coach and mentor multiple project teams. The Project Director is responsible for the overall coordination and performance of the team in achieving the project construction performance objectives and construction performance objectives.


The Tasks:

  • Lead, coach and mentor all internal project team members to achieve the project deliverables
  • Determine all resources required to complete assigned projects in accordance with the project commitments
  • Guide the team in the structure and delivery of project bids, budgeting, and other pre-construction services
  • Once the project has been awarded, manage the client relationship to ensure a great experience and client retention
  • Provide preconstruction leadership to the project team, challenging them to deliver value-based design
  • Align Project Execution Plan with Chandos’ core ideology, by providing oversight on the project goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, budgets, staffing requirements, responsibility matrix, work breakdown structure, milestones and deliverables
  • Support a safety culture that aligns with corporate strategies and core values

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent construction experience
  • Gold Seal Certification (GSC) required
  • LEED understanding
  • Fifteen or more years of experience in commercial construction
  • Ten or more years of direct work experience in construction project management
  • Demonstrated success in multiple project delivery methods
  • Highly effective negotiation, diplomacy and conflict-resolution skills
