Your Role


We're seeking an aspiring and collaborative Project Manager to join our team of experts, leading project teams within our British Columbia business unit. Working closely with clients, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to be part of bringing meaningful change by providing access to public sector projects.


We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with experience leading teams of project managers including the management of projects within realm of high-security facilities such as, detention facilities (prisons), airports, border crossings, police stations, court houses, immigration offices, secure mental health facilities and casinos. These would be large scale projects that include building security and locking systems, electronic security systems, and surveillance cameras.

Responsibilities


  • Manage multiple project teams concurrently.
  • Interact with other project management personnel from other contracted organizations and/or departments on specific projects, to represent our client’s interests.
  • Plan and lead the activities of project personnel, internal customers, contractors and other support providers.
  • Plan and oversee project activities including financial, planning and contracting elements, and maintain project information in the project tracking and file system.
  • Act as the owner's representative, adeptly facilitating the fulfillment of the owner's requirements through effective coordination with the client design coordinator and other stakeholders.
  • Provide briefings on progress and concerns regarding the project, as and when required.
  • Prepare documentation for management in response to scheduled and unscheduled reports and observations on project progress.
  • Prepare formal Statements of Work, work breakdown structures, and evaluation materials, as and when required.
  • Prepare and present projects for governance gating reviews at various stages, engaging stakeholders ranging from project team peers to Senior Management to ensure project approval.
  • Attend construction site meetings on a regular basis.
  • Prepare monthly Project Status Reports complete with regular fiscal cost and schedule forecasting and identifying key risks to the project.
  • Lead your project teams with your ability to manage change, communicate and coordinate between multiple stakeholders, resolve issues, and deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Develop, plan, analyze, evaluate, and prioritize deliverables and requirements.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to the client regarding the approaches to the assigned projects.
  • Provide written reports to the client, as and when required.

Qualifications


  • University degree in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering or in architecture (mandatory).
  • Experience in construction projects in a high-security environment in facilities such as, detention facilities (prisons), airports, border crossings, police stations, court houses, immigration offices, and casinos.
  • All construction projects should include all traditional construction sets (mechanical, electrical, architectural) and such things as building security and locking systems, electronic security systems, and cameras.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation (Preferred).
  • Professional certification of P.Eng, Registered Architect, or equivalent (Preferred).
  • At least 7-10 years experience in a consulting role (Preferred).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience managing public sector construction projects (federal, provincial, municipal, school boards).
  • Strong team leadership skills.

Approximate Base Salary Range for Role: $75,000 CAD to $110,000 CAD.


Base Salary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Annual bonus opportunities are in addition to base salary.
