Project Manager – Mining Technology

Remote (Ontario, Canada)

In a typical day, YOU will be:


  • Demonstrate safe and environmentally sound work behaviours at all times in support of Toromont's Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives
  • Responsible for all new implementations of the Toromont Technology operations and will be a direct liaison with the customer’s operations and maintenance departments at all Technology mine site ECAN
  • Responsible for safety during implementation and updates, customer satisfaction, integrity, and growth by maintaining and supporting company objectives through the effective management and growth of the parts and service operations
  • Manage resources and relationships with the customer to develop and enhance the partnership
  • Oversee all aspects of Toromont’s Technology implementations onsite including workforce management, WIP, Technology parts/inventory management, warranty and goodwill claims
  • Responsible of identifying the Technology support needed by branches for the level 1 support and follow-up with branches
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives onsite with all stakeholders
  • Proactively identify and quantify potential liabilities at site and immediately implement corrective actions to mitigate risk to asset base and/or margin
  • Identify and communicate Toromont and the customer objectives or issues with documentation and visuals suitable for meetings or electronic presentations
  • Monitor financial results to ensure goals and metrics are met in both expenses and sales for the technology projects
  • Develop annual budgets and forecasts as required for Technology implementations


Must-haves for this role:


  • Completed post-secondary education with a focus in mining or operations management
  • Operational experience, preferably in a mining operation is an asset
  • Solid Experience in Project management and project management software (Microsoft Project)
  • Health, safety and environmental operational experience with an impeccable performance record
  • Superior communication, negotiating, analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong leadership, coaching and team building skills
  • Self-motivated and able to adapt to changing and multiple priorities
  • Proactive mindset with focus on planning and future dated orders
  • Organization skills with the ability to manage often competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline drive environment
  • Valid Divers LicenseKnowledgeable with Microsoft applications along with strong computer skills
