Project Manager - Municipal Projects

North Vancouver, BC

LOCATION: North Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)

LEVEL: Intermediate - Senior

We are looking for a professional who has a strong civil background with municipal infrastructure experience in water services, and most importantly aligns with our team values (Safety, Wellbeing, Respect, Quality, Collaborate & Growth Mindset). This position is based in the Greater Vancouver area and will be responsible for supporting capital infrastructure projects for our municipal client.

Responsibilities:  

  • Create project management documents such as project charters, project management plans, schedules, cost estimates, and track progress
  • Develop Request for Proposal documents
  • Administer construction and consulting engineering contracts
  • Manage project stakeholders ensuring that appropriate public consultation for projects is undertaken
  • Oversee consultants’ work and construction contractors, ensuring all standards, specifications and regulations are followed and accurate construction documentation is obtained and recorded
  • Perform the role of owner’s engineer by reviewing and approving design and project decisions made by consultants working under his/her supervision


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as engineering, business, or economics
  • Licensed as a professional engineer in the province of British Columbia
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification would be an asset
  • 5+ years of experience working on municipal or civil projects
  • 5+ years of experience working in project management
  • Experience working on projects related to dams, treatment facilities, reservoir, pump stations and water mains
  • Proven ability to lead projects and work independently
  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills in English
  • Good knowledge of finance and procurement sufficient to provide technical coordination and input
  • Excellent use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and working knowledge of Project Management tools such as MS Project

Compensation:

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. Based on the requirements set out above, we are seeking an individual in the median of the salary range $90,000 - $145,000.
