The Opportunity


We are looking for a term and a full-time permanent Regulatory Project Manager to join Nova Scotia Power’s Corporate Regulatory Affair team. Our downtown based corporate head office is located along the Halifax waterfront, where we offer a hybrid work option enabling you to work from home 2 days each week.


Reporting to the Senior Regulatory Counsel, you will research and work with other members of NSPI staff to develop positions and recommend courses of action for regulatory management. The incumbent will manage teams from various parts of the company to successfully achieve desired outcomes with respect to regulatory projects assigned and will be required to maintain knowledge of current regulatory issues and practices.


Key Elements Of The Role Include


  • As the successful candidate, you will be leading the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of assigned deliverables.
  • You will manage the project activities, create detailed project plans, organize and manage project meetings.
  • You will also be responsible for overall management of regulatory projects.
  • You provide leadership, direction and motivation to the project teams and other project resources with whom you work.
  • Further, you will ensure effective communication with project stakeholders and ensure proper documentation is created, maintained and archived.
  • You will support regulatory research in support of regulatory activities and develop written reports and presentations for all levels of management.


You will be responsible for personal safety, that of coworkers, and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will also be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with concepts related to utility regulation and operations is considered an asset.
