Residential Construction Manager
Patten Homes is an established Ottawa-West based builder, specializing in residential construction. We are looking for a Construction Manager to join our growing team and help us deliver exceptional building projects.
The Construction Manager will oversee all phases of construction projects, from initial planning to completion and handover. This role requires strong leadership skills, project management experience, and a thorough understanding of construction processes and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enforce safety protocols and regulations on-site, fostering a culture of safety among all team members.
- Develop and manage project schedules and resources. Coordinate with team, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure project feasibility and compliance with regulations.
- Participate in setting project budgets, ensuring cost control and identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Lead and supervise a team of construction workers and subcontractors. Provide guidance and support to ensure all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Monitor construction progress and quality, conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Identify and resolve any issues that arise during construction, including delays, resource shortages, and other unforeseen challenges.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and daily reports. Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Construction Manager or similar role in the residential construction.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Proficient in ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license, clean record and reliable transportation.
