YOU BRING: Great organizational and time management skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You are a seasoned development expert with life-cycle experience in the development process of multi-family housing, mixed-use and institutional projects. Focused on the importance that quality and attention to-detail, you will be driven, empathetic and business-minded, and bring project management skills, as well as fresh ideas. An eye for design will be beneficial.
WE’D LIKE YOU TO HAVE:
- 7 years real estate experience in a development management role with multi-family and mixed-use project experience with exposure to feasibility, project management, design and construction processes
- Solid understanding of the municipal entitlement policies and processes to help secure all regulatory approvals including rezoning, development and building permits
- Highly motivated, organized and driven to execute on projects with minimal supervision
- Established network of contacts within the municipal, consultant and development communities, including active involvement in industry committees and events
- Confident public speaker with ability to coordinate internal and external stakeholders meetings
- Ability to read and understand drawings, plans and specifications
- Education in Real Estate, Commerce, Urban Land Economics, Architecture, Planning or Engineering
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment with poise and humility
- Strong attention to detail
- Patience and creativity in your approach to complex challenges
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- A good sense of humour!
A DAY IN THE LIFE
You'll walk into our vibrant downtown office and grab a cup of Starbucks from our kitchen. Reporting to the Vice President of Development and working closely with the entire development team, the Senior Development Manager / Director, Development will join a group of dedicated professionals to develop a broad scale of projects in the Lower Mainland, with a particular focus on the Vancouver market. This role is office-based, with regular site visits as required.
Throughout the project life-cycle, this role works closely with the Acquisitions, Marketing & Sales, Construction and Finance teams to ensure that product design and specification meets the needs of the market, while at the same time serving Intracorp’s financial performance objectives and overall corporate goals.
You will:
- Lead external partner meetings with various institutional firms
- Provide clear and concise internal project reporting including preparation of budgets and schedules
- Coordinate all design consultants
- Oversee project delivery with the internal construction team
- Liaise with municipality in the issuance of permits
- Assist with project legal matters
- Review product drawings and specifications
- Stay informed on market trends, innovations, and municipal policy
