Senior Environmental Manager

Richmond, BC


In the role of Senior Environmental Manager, you will develop, implement and monitor the environmental plans and procedures on a major construction project. A seasoned advisor in the construction industry, you will leverage your experience in preparing complex permitting applications and deep knowledge of local environmental regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate potential environmental liabilities.

What you will be doing

  • Develops, implements and monitors environmental procedures and plans that meet the Project’s environmental compliance requirements
  • Advises Project team on proper interpretation and implementation of environmental regulations and specifications
  • Leads impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce the project’s environmental risks and financial costs
  • Leads permitting and regulatory reviews of major Project works and milestones
  • Oversees the environmental quality management system and auditing process
  • Documents, analyzes and reports the Project’s environmental performance to stakeholders and applicable regulatory bodies
  • Advises construction team on environmental hazards and procedures to minimize adverse environmental effects
  • Perform additional assignments per management’s direction
  • Coordinates external consultants, as needed
  • Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan
  • Support published corporate policies

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field required
  • 10 - 15 years environmental regulatory and compliance experience in the heavy civil construction industry
  • 5+ years of experience leading multidisiplinary environmental teams
  • Expert knowledge of compliance with environmental regulations and new legislation
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing complex permitting applications on major construction projects
  • Previous experience in developing an enviromental management system for a construction project
  • Superior technical writing, documentation and communication skills

CAD $120,000.00/Yr.

Salary Max

CAD $150,000.00/Yr.
