Senior Estimator

Richmond, BC

You as a Senior Estimator will 

  • Confidently lead a team through the completion of a bid process under pressure; mentor and train junior estimating staff
  • Assemble accurate, timely and well-organized estimates, including hard-bid, construction management and design-build
  • Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders and assisting the buy-out process
  • Monitor the success of a project, noting potential challenges and building relationships with sub-trades for future opportunities
  • Distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid price
  • Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference

Is this the right role for you?


  • 10+ years of experience in ICI estimating or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • You have an advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts as well as conceptual estimating and unit costs
  • You have the ability to work effectively and accurately in time-sensitive situations while delegating to a team
  • You have the ability to work independently & have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively. 
  • You have experience using various takeoff software, specifically either CostX or BlueBeam.
