About the Opportunity

Brighouse Civil Contracting is looking for a full-time Senior Estimator/Project Manager based in Richmond, B.C.


The successful candidate is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, developing comprehensive project plans, overseeing project execution, and ensuring successful completion of various projects within budget and on schedule.


More specifically, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for large-scale excavation, shoring, civil infrastructure, utility installation, road construction, and land development projects
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management
  • Oversee project execution from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications, schedules, and budgets
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals and requirements
  • Conduct site visits to assess project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Manage and mitigate project risks, including safety, financial, and operational risks
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle
  • Prepare and present project reports, including progress updates, cost analysis, and project performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business opportunities


About You

To qualify, you will need 5+ years of related estimating experience, specifically within residential, commercial, and industrial construction.


Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience in civil infrastructure, or deep excavation and shoring
  • Pre-existing network of clients and contacts within the industry
  • Business development experience
  • Degree or diploma in civil engineering, construction, or a related field

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential to manage and mitigate project risks, while ensuring adherence to project specifications and budgets. Additionally, the ability to lead and motivate a team, coupled with a keen attention to detail, will be crucial for the successful execution and completion of projects.
