Senior Instrumentation & Controls Designer
Location: Guelph, Ontario
Compensation: $80,000-$100,000 (Flexible)

About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Designer to join our client’s growing team focused on custom control panel building for wastewater treatment and other sectors. This role is integral to their mission to deliver high-quality, tailored solutions, and you'll work under the guidance of experienced I&C Supervisors and senior designers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work under the direction of the I&C Supervisor and designated senior level I&C hardware designers.
- Review all available materials related to assigned projects (proposals, specifications, emails, etc.)
- Discuss the desired project design “approach/philosophy” with the I&C Supervisor, project PM and any senior level I&C hardware designer assigned to the project.
- Attend product meetings with suppliers.
- Research electrical code and product application details as required.
- Interpret and create drawings, technical manuals, specifications and regulations as required.
- Create/modify P&IDs, electrical schematics, panel layouts, and instrument location drawings as needed.
- Create/modify single line diagrams, loop drawings, communication drawings, and cntl room layouts as needed.
- Create/modify instrumentation lists, IO lists, cable lists and IP address lists as needed.
- Create/modify Bill of Materials (BOM) as required.
- Release project packages to production for manufacturing.
- Learn ISO standards as they apply to your position.
- Maintain a daily log of all job related activities using the approved IDT time sheet format.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering or related electrical discipline
- Strong familiarity/continued learning with NEC, UL508A, CEC and CSA 22.2
- Proficient with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical and EPlan Electric P8
- Strong customer service focus and sense of urgency
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability and willing to travel as required
