You as the Senior Quality Manager will:


  • Provide overall quality management from preconstruction to project completion; ensure project quality objectives and requirements are communicated and understood by all relevant team members including consultants and trade partners.
  • Oversee the development of project-specific and Subcontractor quality plans for design and construction; ensure all quality plans address project requirements, are consistent with EllisDon’s quality program and best practices, and roles and responsibilities have been clearly defined.
  • Proactively identify project risks and opportunities. Help develop and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies including QA/QC measures and coordination with relevant technical resources/departments.
  • Manage, review and coordinate the development of Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs) for construction activities. Ensure ITPs are developed and implemented effectively for all applicable scopes of work.
  • Monitor execution of design and construction activities to assess compliance with respect to the quality program, project-specific quality plans, and project requirements.
  • Perform Project Quality Audits and Subcontractor Quality Audits and ensure appropriate audit action plans are developed and implemented.
  • Work with project teams and Area leadership to develop a comprehensive understanding of quality requirements.
  • Providing quality assurance resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.


Is this the right role for you?


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry with a strong understanding of quality management systems and practices.
  • Minimum of five years of experience overseeing the design and construction of transit.
  • Experience in managing a team of quality professionals.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certified
  • Professional Engineer, Engineering or other construction-related degree is an asset.
  • Experience developing and implementing quality-plans on large/complex projects.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and relevant codes and standards related to construction (ex. CSA A23.1).
  • Ability to plan and organize work in a manner that is clear, concise, and punctual.
