Senior Site Superintendent
Fillmore Construction, a leading general contractor serving Western Canada since 1991, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Superintendent to join our Edmonton team. As a Senior Superintendent specializing in multi-family developments, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. Your leadership and expertise will be essential in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.
Your Key Responsibilities
Site Management
- Provide on-site leadership, guidance, and coordination of all construction activities
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of multi-family construction projects
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met
- Monitor and control project budgets, costs, and resources
- Maintain daily paperwork including field staff and subcontractor documents, daily logs, safety inspections, schedule and look-a-head updates, etc
- Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance with regards to safety and scope of work
- Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on the project, reinforcing the requirements of Fillmore Construction’s Health and Safety Program for all on-site
Communication and Collaboration
- Foster strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholder
- Keep all parties informed of project progress, challenges, and resolution
- Collaborate with the project management team to address and resolve issues effectively
Quality Assurance
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure the highest standards are met
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address construction deficiencies promptly
Your Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on multi-family developments – both wood frame and concrete
- Demonstrated knowledge of all building techniques, building codes, and safety regulations associated with the construction of commercial and multi-family buildings
- Proven track record of successfully completing projects on time and within budget
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse project teams
- Excellent organization, communication, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
