Salary Range: $350,000 - $380,000

Responsibilities:

  • Manage performance of a region or office: Manage staffing/utilization. Develop annual budget and strategic objectives with input/review by CDO and/or ELT.
  • Review monthly reporting and ensure operational compliance with standards required to produce reporting including staff utilization; budget to actual revenue and EBITDA; monthly board reports; A/R and account aging reports; and EEO reports.
  • Build and maintain desired corporate cultural outcomes consistent with positive engagement outcomes and psychological safety, regularly soliciting and receiving staff feedback through surveys and other interactions. Oversee hiring, evaluation, development and termination of personnel. Perform annual and periodic reviews of all office/regional personnel, including incentive compensation and salary adjustments, within annual budget parameters. Maintain standards for key business system elements, including but not limited to proposals and personal utilization targets.
  • Drive business development with clients: Lead sales efforts for the office/region, including coordination with other Managing Directors, local market leads, Senior Directors or central business development staff. Approve all proposals issued within the office/region and actively engage in writing project pursuit and other proposal content as needed.
  • Management of A/R collections within appropriate timelines.
  • Monitor existing client relationships to ensure engagement objectives and delivery of services are being met, identify opportunities for improvement, to ultimately position the firm for repeat work or new work. Coordinate cross-staffing and sales efforts with other Managing Directors. Maintain and grow backlog to achieve annual approved budgets and booking targets in conjunction with Senior Directors. Maintain relationships with large clients within local markets in the area, coordinate understanding of their upcoming projects, and lead proposal efforts. Review all contracts within office/region purview. Sign all contracts for the office/region within signature authority as outlined in the Authority Matrix. Coordinate execution of all contracts within the office/region. Evaluate all contracts and backlog for risk exposure and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute expertise to proposals outside your region: Offer market niche leadership/insight. Identify strategic opportunities in other regions. Share resources with other regions. Participate in pursuits (proposal writing, interviews, oversee projects, etc.).
  • Contribute to thought leadership by demonstrating subject matter expertise.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee quality services being provided to clients as measured by client feedback, repeat work, surveys and other related tools. Develop/oversee correction action plans when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture or equivalent experience is required.
  • 10+ Years of experience
  • PE, CCM, PMP, CFE, COA, LEED and/or Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience managing markets or business sectors
  • Experience managing and developing teams
  • Deep understanding of professional services Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and how to motivate and hold accountable teams to deliver on these KPIs.
  • Strong computer skills familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related scheduling systems such as MS Project or Primavera are required
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills required
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills required
  • Strong management and budgeting skills required

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Physical Requirements: This position involves a combination of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day. Requires the ability to view and comprehend information and emails on computer monitors for the majority of the day.
  • Mental Requirements: This position requires strong communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to problem solve, interpret information and draw conclusions to make decisions. This position also requires strong supervisory, presentation and budgeting skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work product is also required as well as the ability to effectively handle conflicting priorities.
