Sr. Construction Manager
Scott Builders Inc. is seeking a hands-on, experienced Senior Project Manager with expertise in commercial and light industrial construction, particularly in low-rise mixed-use, recreational, or assisted-living projects. In this role, you’ll take charge of large or multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to our high-quality standards. Acting as a Project Lead, you’ll provide guidance and mentorship to project teams, driving project success through collaboration and leadership.
This position will be assigned to the Calgary branch, but consideration may be given to candidates that reside in Southeast British Columbia as well.

Job Summary:
As the Sr. Project Manager, the successful candidate will develop and review the project scope, budget, plans and schedules. Relying on previous experience and in conjunction with the project team the successful candidate will ensure the project is built according to approved plans, specifications, and building codes, to meet our high standard of quality construction. The Sr. Project Manager works closely with the Site Superintendent and Project Team to meet project obligations based on scope, schedule, budget and quality. Candidates with a proven track record to achieve project schedule commitments within financial targets will be given preference.
This position is responsible for client liaison, trade/vendor management, managing safety, quality, project earnings, risks and administrative functions including financial reporting, change management, staffing, and communications with all stakeholders.
We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager with demonstrated experience in leading successful project teams through teamwork, collaboration and mentoring, with the ability to influence others, negotiate and resolve conflict. The proven ability to establish strong client and trade relationships is also crucial to the success of this position and a requirement of the Scott Builders Culture.
Candidates who submit project lists supporting Multi Family/Assisted-Living, Recreational and Low-rise Mixed-use markets will be given preference.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive experience managing large, complex commercial construction projects.
- Post Secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in low-rise mixed-use, recreational, or assisted-living construction.
- Gold Seal certification preferred.
- Proficiency in construction software (e.g., Procore) and project management tools.
- Proven ability to lead teams, solve complex problems, and drive project success.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship-building skills.
- Flexibility to travel and work overtime as needed.
- A valid driver’s license and legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Must have and maintain a valid provincial drivers license
- Must be legally able to work in Canada without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor employment Visas.
