ANDRITZ Ltd.’s Automation & Digitalization division seeks a Sr. Manager – Regional Engineered Services to oversee the efficient and profitable functioning of the Nanaimo, BC, location.
Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Participate in the development of medium and long-term plans to achieve regional/divisional objectives and growth.
- Develop and manage operational budgets for the assigned location and monitor and control the financial performance.
- Work closely with the Sales & Business Development team to define, develop, and execute sales growth strategies and campaigns.
- Develop, review, and approve opportunities brought in by the Sales Team and help close the sale technically.
- Maintain working relationships with all other managers and directors to ensure effective coordination of all Company activities in support of corporate objectives.
- Participate in regional resource planning and forecasting to effectively allocate and utilize resources.
- Keep abreast of latest industry developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position.
- Monitor local projects to identify and manage technical risks and issues, implementing appropriate corrective actions.
- Evaluate the performance of the assigned location by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics. Present findings to senior management as required.
- Manage and/or oversee large capital project development, including feasibility studies, project scope definitions, preliminary engineering designs, and capital cost estimates.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of professionals and project stakeholders.
- Manage customer expectations through regular consultation and responsiveness.
- Network with industry groups and professional organizations to establish the presence and reputation of the Company.
- Ensure that the location’s project activities adhere to the quality standards established by the Company and industry standards.
- Participate and/or lead regular Internal Project Reviews.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement procedures to enhance the quality, efficiency, and productivity of the location’s activities.
- Grow, lead, and develop the local team while maintaining a high level of employee morale.
- Lead through management and mentorship, while embodying, fostering, and enforcing ANDRITZ values and core behaviors.
When considering candidates, we will be looking for the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or technology diploma in electrical engineering
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in industrial automation engineering
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project management
- Minimum of 5 years’ management experience with technical leadership
- Pulp & Paper industry experience required; mining experience an asset
- Strong business acumen and desire to develop sales and lead a team of professionals
- Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to present to others
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites
