We are currently looking to fill the role of Vice President, Client Relationship & Business Development for our Global Minerals & Metals sector. This individual will be responsible for developing and managing the relationship with our most important clients, as well as for the leadership of all business development efforts for our global business.


Location: Based out of Canada or USA


Responsibilities

  • Deploy the overall strategy to develop a value proposition for the Global M&M business.
  • Set the strategic plans for the development of partnerships with prospect key clients under the KAM program, to ensure that we manage our investment in client management and target our resources at areas that deliver high growth for the business and value for our clients.
  • Build, develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospect “Top Clients”, based on criteria, such as global pipeline, revenue and operating assets, in alignment with the AR growth strategy.
  • Lead business development activities including the proposal preparation and review.
  • Lead the strategic planning and development of the client relationships, business development and proposal departments through a deep understanding of the business environment, competitive pressures, customer requirements and market trends.
  • Ensure that the Company and Sector’s strategic direction is reflected in the growth and development of the department within the globe.
  • Set strategic objectives and monitor the progress toward these objectives.
  • Responsible for budgets and execution strategies to support proposals.
  • Maintain and develop the managerial and technical skill sets of the department as well as the skills within the speciality groups of the department. Ensure department personnel are qualified and have the required experience level to support the project needs of the business unit.
  • Foster a spirit of enthusiasm, technical innovation, client focus, team building and continual improvement.
  • Implement effective department communications with all stakeholders, holding department and project functional leads accountable to keep their project team members informed on significant issues affecting their engineering discipline.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 20+ years relevant experience in the minerals and metals industry including experience in leadership and supervisory roles.
  • Experience working for base and precious metals.
  • Must possess broad experience in the execution of multi-discipline engineering work on large / complex projects across the complete EPC/EPCM lifecycle.
  • Must possess a comprehensive understanding of the minerals and metals industry, be thoroughly familiar with typical business and contract models employed in the industry and hold a wide network of professional industry contacts (Teck resources, Newmont, Kinross).
  • Strong strategic analytical and problem-solving skills.
