Job Overview


The VP, Nuclear oversees all of Laurentis’ business development and operations in two main areas, that of Sustaining Nuclear and New Nuclear/SMRs. They must have at least 5 years of P&L responsibility at this level and have had Engineering and/or Project Management and Business Development experience at this or the Sr. Director level in the Nuclear industry. They achieve outstanding results through their superior leadership capabilities, their ability to build relationships, to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, the creation of effective strategies, procedures and the development of agile and capable teams to tactically execute on strategic and financial objectives.


Key Accountabilities


Working in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations:


  • Provide Leadership to the business lines of Laurentis, creating a cohesive, high performing and agile group that strategically plans and delivers on the company’s business opportunities, utilizing:
  • An in-depth understanding of Laurentis’ strategic goals, mission, values and culture;
  • The Nuclear Industry, in Canada and globally;
  • Building and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Develops and implements the strategy for Laurentis’ business in the fields of New Nuclear/SMRs and Sustaining Nuclear, with specific strategies for the industry/country focused operations teams,
  • That are aligned with Laurentis’ strategic goals, mission values and culture;
  • Leverage our unique technology and expertise to position Laurentis as the leader in Nuclear Technology Services.
  • Full P&L responsibilities for the operating business lines group.
  • Including collaboration with the Finance Team in annual budgeting, forecasting and managing the quarterly and annual results;
  • Collaboration with shared service entities for planning and delivering on objectives and deliverables;
  • And to develop and implement the budgets for the operating business lines and all nuclear projects.
  • Guiding, directing and evaluating the work of management and executive members of the Nuclear group.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders on all operations policies, procedures, governances, safety and the achievement of Laurentis’ goals.
  • Actively participate in Talent Acquisition, Engagement, Performance Management and the fostering of Laurentis Culture.
  • Analyze and continuously improve business development/business operations,
  • Including our ‘Bid’ practices, processes, collaboration and alignment with Commercial, People & Culture and Finance teams.
  • Budgeting for multiple projects, monitoring and controlling costs within the Nuclear business lines group.
  • Ensuring compliance with all government regulatory legislation and business laws, applicable to the jurisdictions we operate in.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations.
  • Define and implement the Nuclear business line strategy structure and processes.
  • Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.
  • Have extensive knowledge of the industries we operate in;
  • Monitor the competitive landscape, emergent technologies and other developments to foster our competitive advantage.
  • Tackle unforeseen issues, trouble shooting and problem solving.
  • Other duties as required.


Qualifications


We are seeking dynamic and results-driven professionals who have the following:


  • 5 to 10 years experience as a VP (or a combination of VP and Sr. Director experience) in Engineering, Operations, Project Management or Business Development in the Nuclear industry
  • Post Secondary Degree in Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration
